Chapter 22 - Dispensation of Kingdom on Earth

Dispensational Teaching of the Kingdom
Most of us would like to understand what God wants for believers today, how believers should relate to Israel, what and why we exist at this time, and finally what will happen when this life is over.

Remember dispensational teaching gives a proper perspective of God’s administrative or dispensational workings. A dispensation contains the guiding truths of the historical governing rules of God and His administration which many have been confused when trying to understand the Bible. These governing rules operated during the time of the Biblical events of the historical dispensation's unfolding. Remember as we study the dispensation of the Kingdom that the New Covenant has been in effect scene the finished work of Christ Jesus' resurrection and the implementation at Pentecost with the indwelling work of the Holy Spirit. (Please remember it takes all seven key principles to change a dispensation and Pentecost does not change the Dispensation [administration] of Promise, it only brought the promise to fulfillment with the indwelling Holy Spirit into the lives of the promise people, making the New Covenant operational. Israel in the Old Testament and during the time of Jesus through Pentecost was anticipating the fulfillment of prophecy in which they were to inherit the Earthly Kingdom. The 'church' or called out ones saved at the time of Pentecost relate to the Promise earthly kingdom dispensation anticipation, it is not the church called Christ's Body.)

The Order of Dispensations

Discovering the events leading up to the end of history help us cope with life. There are three dispensations which are yet to be fulfill in the history of man, (see the time chart no. 22, 23, 24, 27) before the eternal dispensation (on time chart 28).

Today's dispensation ends (23) with the rapture followed by the 7 year tribulation judgment on unbelievers, the judgment of the Tribulation period is the judgment of non-believers of both the Dispensation of Promise and the Dispensation of Grace (18 and 23).

Then comes the third to come yet is the earthly Kingdom dispensation (27) followed by the finally dispensation. The eternal Kingdom dispensation called The Dispensation of the Fullness of Times (28), which is the last dispensation, (Look at the time chart and follow the numbers to help you see the order of progression and how they relate in the history of mankind).

The Former Dispensation before the Earthly Kingdom Relationship

In the former chapter on the Body of Christ we saw, the church of today that it was a non-prophesized program. The Body of Christ church is an overlay and it delays or 'holds back' the fulfillment of the judgment on Israel (the prophesied 70 weeks of Daniel) and delays the earthly Kingdom.

The Nation of Israel by their rejection of the Messiah Jesus revealed in the gospels, they rejection being the stewards of the New Covenant implemented in Acts, by Israel's rejection as the Nation to be the dispensers of the truth of New Covenant and the Gospel message they rejected the Holy Spirit the third person of the trinity.

The rejection sealed the Nation's judgment, waiting the Tribulation Period. Their rejection put into operation the pending period of time, today's dispensation and their awaiting judgment, the tribulation period of the wrath of God.

Many Bible scholars have explained this delay or pending period as a parentheses period in the dispensation of Promise or prophesied program of God. God in His foreknowledge and grace inserted today's program (or Dispensation) which stopped the final judgment of Daniels 70th week on Israel. This parentheses started after Acts 7, and will end at the Rapture of the Body of Christ the church today. The transition period which started at Acts 7 is in keeping with the keys of a dispensation which all dispensations have before going into the next dispensation is in fullness (see chapter 9 on transitions).

Out of all the definition below 'interval' helps to describes the insertion of the Dispensation of Grace, the church which is the Body of Christ of today. The word Overlay describes an aspect where today's dispensation overlays the fulfillment on Israel and their judgment of the 70th weeks of Daniel's prophecy.

However, even though the Nation of Israel is laid aside there are still individual Israelite being saved but in relationship to today's dispensation not the earthly Kingdom dispensation in their natural flesh body. Israel hold a covenant relationship to receive the promise of an earthly Kingdom which will be fulfilled.

The only short fall in calling today's dispensation a 'parentheses' or 'a secondary importance' weakens the truth because today's dispensation is one of the highest privilege a person can receive today; we are part of Jesus Christ's body not a subject under a Kingship governing relationship. This does not say however believers today are not part of the Eternal Kingdom of God but are responsible to bring about in our living the moral, and characteristics of the Kingdom. We are responsible today because we are ambassadors of Christ Jesus and represent Him as if He is walking around in our presents in natural body as we. Jesus Christ is working through believers in this unique position to the world today and the universal principle of holiness remain the same for us in scripture, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21. We also know that God's chosen Nation Israel is still in His heart and believers today are not to be proud in their faith thinking this is not true, Romans, chapters 10-11
         Definition:
Inserted - place something inside something, to put something inside something else.
Parentheses -  marks enclosing a matter of secondary importance, (****).
Interval - something that acts as a pause or break in something
Overlay – a transparent sheet containing additional detail that is placed on top of another graphic

The Earthly Kingdom - The Dispensation of the Kingdom

The dispensation of the earthly Kingdom is the last of the dispensations where man will need to be saved because afterwards God bring to an end Satan, and an end to the God ejectors.

The Dispensation of the Fullness of Times which is the eternal Kingdom. Satan and non-believers are eternally condemned punitively and thrown into the Lake of fire. This Fullness of Times dispensation is the eternal Kingdom and it does not have any evil or failures on man's part as all the other dispensation did. We will look at it in a latter chapter in more detail to discover the events and makeup of the eternal administration (dispensation) to the best of our understanding of scripture, Revelation 21-22.

Let's start looking at the Earthly Kingdom of God where Christ Jesus is the fulfilling of the Davidic Covenant, sitting on the earthly throne ruling over Israel and Israel back in covenant relationship which is the fulfillment spoken by the prophet, where Israel receive their earthly Kingdom. This dispensation is the last program of God before the Eternal Kingdom. This supposition is based on a dispensational schematic of Biblical progressive revelation which is systematic and symmetrical, organized. The truths revealed in the dispensations (administrations) organizes the truth God has given in His Word since the creation of the world. It is the intent not to have presuppositions based on anything else than the truth of God's word. We have seen in other chapters the differences of the five dispensations of God which led to this sixth one - the Dispensation of the 1000 year millennial Kingdom which is on earth with Christ ruling.

Transition from Former dispensation : The transition from the Dispensation of Promise through the Dispensation of Grace includes the time from the birth of Christ to the end of the tribulation (we have seen there was a transition into the mystery dispensation from Acts 7 through 28 with the full revelation for today's  dispensation given through the Apostle Paul with his writing. The rest of the writing of the New testament after Paul's only relate by universal truths and the historical events which are still to happen being  completed with the truths revealed in the book of Revelation) . Maybe a note is need to remind us that a covenant is not a dispensation, also you do not base a dispensation on the word church, you need to ask which church, (which call out ones).

We are not living today to bringing about the literal earthly Kingdom. Those saved today will be raptured 1Thessalonians 4: 13-18, out before the earthly Kingdom comes literally into existence and they will be raptured before the tribulation period (the 70 weeks of Daniel's prophecy).

The tribulation is part of the transition into the Kingdom on earth where Christ Jesus' return to earth to rule  from Jerusalem. With the second coming of Jesus Christ to earth the Dispensation of the Kingdom starts ending the tribulation period and transition  Zechariah 14, Revelation 1:6-8, 3:11-13, Acts 1:6-11.

The rapture is not the same as the second coming of Christ, the rapture brings to an end the Dispensation of Grace for believers today who are caught (called) up in the air where Jesus Christ will call and meet them. Christ Jesus does not touch the earth at the rapture as He will at His second coming; and after the rapture the judgment starts for man's failure of both the dispensations of Promise and Grace.

Also, those raptured before Christ literal return to earth and tribulation period will experience the full redemption of their body where they will be given their glorified bodies with all the saints back to the time of Adam and Eve. They will stay with Christ Jesus in heaven until He returns to earth as King and those raptured will rule and reign under His world government but those rapture will not have physical bodies and will not reproduce children because they will be in their glorified bodies at this time.

Christ, the King was present on earth in the Gospels but did not take the right of ruler at that time. John the Baptist, Jesus himself and the Apostles in Acts Acts 2,3, Matthew 3:2, 4:17. all agree as to who Christ was and to the rights which Christ had but certain event had to be completed first. John's baptism pronounced the coming of Christ and his baptism was related to God's offer to Israel of the millennial Kingdom. The baptism was a baptism for repentance of the Nation over their rejection of obedience up to the time of Christ, and individual submission to baptism was an identification God required for them to show humbleness and repentance of heart to receive the Messiah and Kingdom not salvation (they were already His chosen, covenant people save according to the Dispensation of Promise).

The Kingdom never is defined to the people because the people already knew about the kingdom and they expected an earthly Messiah. The Kingdom that Jesus and John preached was the same prophesied and proclaimed in the Old Testament, they never made a distinctions in their teaching, Matthew 22:41- 45, Psalms 110:2, 4, 5-7, Malachi 3:1-6, Luke 1:32,33, Micah 5:2, cf. Matthew 2:1-6, Micah 4:1-8
(Page 103 -114, A Dissertation presented to the faculty of the Graduate School, Dallas Theological Seminary, The Place of Baptism in The Theology of James Robinson Graves, by Dr. James Houghton, May 1971).

There are 6 characteristics which Dr. Houghton point out (pages 110-114) in his dissertation.

  1. The spiritual element of the Kingdom - regeneration individual enter the Kingdom, Ezekiel 36:24-28, Matthew 3:1-6, John 3:3, 5-7.

  2. The ethical element of the kingdom - righteousness and justice element marks the Kingdom, Psalms 72:2, Isaiah 11:1-5, Matthew 5:17-20, Matthew 3:7-12

  3. The social element of the Kingdom - sweeping social change in the Kingdom, Hosea 2:18, Micah 4:3, Isaiah 2:4, Matthew 5:1,5, 7-9,

  4. The ecclesiastical element of the Kingdom - religious element, Psalms 110:1-7, Hebrews 5:6-10, 6:20, 7: 1-17, ,Matthew 3:11,12, John 1:29.

  5. The political element of the Kingdom - political and Israel occupying the primary part - Isaiah 61:4-11, Amos 9:13-15, 2 Samuel 7:12-16, cf. Matthew 19:28, Luke 22:29-71.

  6. The physical element of the Kingdom - the sick healed, Isaiah 35:5,6ff, 65:17, 25, Matthew 11:2-5, 12:22-28, 16:2,3, Luke 7:19-22, 11:20, 12:54-56,

God offers the Kingdom to the Nation of Israel spiritually after the Holy Spirit was given in Acts 2,3, and upon Israel's rejection of the offer, God postponed it until today's dispensation is completed, Acts 7, Acts 13:46, Acts 14-27, Acts 18-6, Acts 28-28, Romans 11. The Nation of Israel has always been the chosen people of God but they have not in covenant relationship now, even so they have been preserved by God with some of them are being saved today who receive Jesus Christ by faith as Lord and Savior. The Kingdom being offered to The Nation of Israel will see its fulfillment in the 1000 year millennial, The Dispensation of the Kingdom.

At the end of the seven year Tribulation period spoken of in Daniel's prophecy, the Lord Jesus Christ will come back to earth literally and establish the earthly Kingdom. Daniel 7:21-23 " As I watched, this horn was waging war against the saints and defeating them, until the Ancient of Days came and pronounced judgment in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came when they possessed the kingdom. He gave me this explanation: 'The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will appear on earth. It will be different from all the other kingdoms and will devour the whole earth, trampling it down and crushing it.", Matthew 16:28 "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom." (John in Revelation or the Transfiguration). Mark 9:1 "And he said to them, "I tell you the truth, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God come with power.". Revelation 12:10 "Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down."

Rule which Govern: The dispensation or administration of the Davidic Covenant implemented and the Kingdom with its rules and King present. Also the Nation of Israel in their land. Scripture: - End of Old Testament Prophecy & Matthew - John, James - Revelation

New Beginning: Jesus Christ return to this earth to reign from Jerusalem on the Throne of David. There will only be one ruler over all the earth and that is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ will bind Satan and put him into the place called the bottomless pit (KJV) (or the shaft of the Abyss, [NIV]), and Satan will be bound there for 1000 years, (Revelation 9:1-11, 11:7, 17:8, 20:1-10). God's saints which endured and were left alive at the end of the tribulation period will enter the Millennial rein with Christ in their natural bodies to reproduce the earth's population, they will be the only one coming out of the tribulation alive, the nonbelievers to this point will be killed in judgment and not enter the millennial Kingdom. Long longevity of life will come to them and many will live the whole 1000 years. In says in scripture if a person does not turn from evil they will die at the age of one hundred showing long longevity of living but yet a need to be saved by faith in the finish work of Jesus Christ on the cross or the gospel of the New Covenant will still be needed for those born who have never been born again or saved by receiving Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. There will be perfect peace under Christ rule, the sheep and lion will lay down together, perfect peace in the animal kingdom and man life on earth. The saints which went to heaven in the rapture from all the proceeding dispensation will rule and reign with Christ in relationship to their prospective promises given to the when here on earth. The martyred saints from the tribulation will be raised to rule as described in the Book of Revelation for them.

Stewardship & Setting: The land of Israel and the Nation Of Israel in the leadership or stewards of the Kingdom.

Dealings: dealing are with the world Governed by Christ and the Nation of Israel as priest and the Body of Christ believers ruling in their glorified bodies with the Old Testament saints.

Failure/Sin: Satan loosed and a large number of people follow in rebellion of Jesus Christ Rule.

Judgment: The Lord destroying the rebellion by the word of his mouth

Transition at the end of the 1000 year earthly Kingdom going into the Eternal dispensation, the Dispensation of the Fullness of Times: Satin is set loose from the bottomless pit and Satan goes out and deceives those who have not excepted Jesus Christ as savior and Lord. A great number of those born during the Earthly Kingdom under perfect conditions still did not come to salvation and they follow Satan to battle Christ Jesus. Christ; conquering they by the word of His mouth throwing Satan in the Lake of fire. It is completed with the Great White Throne judgment of all those who rejected Jesus Christ as Lord and savior from the time of Adam to the end of the Dispensation of the earthly Kingdom. With this completed God brings the New Heavens and New Earth into existence and throws the old earth into the lake of fire and renovates the heavens by a great fire.

The following 7 guiding principles of the Dispensation of the Kingdom will be examined:

1. The New Dispensation begins with the King present and the Dispensation rule of the Kingdom implemented.

The kingdom dispensation begin with the second coming of Jesus Christ presents in the governing rule as King on David's Thrown. He establishes the Kingdom of God here on Earth and the Kingdom He will forever rule, it is eternal.

Luke 2:36-38 Israel was looking for the Messiah who would deliver them from the oppression of the Roman Gentles. Israel was looking for National salvation when Jesus Christ walked this earth but before He could establish the earthly kingdom He needed to make provisions for those who would enter the Kingdom, earthly and heavenly He had to make or become the payment for the sins of mankind. The universal truth of the New Covenant had to be completed and the Kingdom was delayed because God had a plan not revealed by the former prophets.

Luke 2:36-38 "There was also a prophetess, Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. (National redemption) NIV

Hebrews 11:8-10, 13-16, When reading the scriptures we see the prophet who wrote the book of Hebrews made it plan that the Old Testament Saints were looking for a heavenly promise. The Nation of Israel as time went identified their promise with the Millennial Reign of Messiah Christ. God Himself gave the Nation the connection when He revealed the Davidic Covenant to David. Also, God promised to Israel that they would receive the Promise land on earth.

Hebrews11:8-10  By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the Promised Land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promiseFor he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God

Hebrews 11:13-16 ’’All these people (Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob and others mentioned in the context) were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earthPeople who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country--a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.’

Hebrews 13:12-14; Here the Hebrews writer exhorts the Israelites to look for the New Jerusalem. He seems to be exhorting them to look for it in suffering and death. One major dispensation reason is during the Dispensation of Grace, today’s church administration no one will enter the 1000yr millennial Kingdom who are save because they will die or be will be caught up and changed into their glorified bodies (rapture out) at the end of this dispensation. The Tribulation judgment is next after the rapture and then the 1000yr earthly Kingdom (Dispensation of the Kingdom), and then the Eternal Kingdom (Dispensation of the Fullness of Times)), when Heaven and Earth become one is relationship of the Creator.  I Thessalonians 5:13-18

Hebrews 13:12-14 "And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood. Let us, then, go to him outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore. For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come’

The King presented and Kingdom implemented on earth:

2. Universal Principle which Transcend all dispensations: remember any which are universal have not changed.

3. Rule Which Change from One dispensation to another

 4. The Institution chosen and responsible to carry out God’s dispensation is the Nation of Israel who will be back in covenant relationship to God.

The Nation of Israel will be priest of the King,  Exodus 19:6  and they will posses the land promised to them, Ezekiel 37:21-23  for they are promised a unique position in the Kingdom. They are in their physical bodies and capable of procreation. David 'exalted for the sake of his people Israel.' God gives it to David as a promise and David say the exultation is for the Nation of Israel. 1 Chronicles 14:2

The Body of Christ is in their spiritual redeemed body or glorified bodies by this time, not able to procreate and they will be governing and ruling men and Angels as appointed by Christ, 1 Corinthians 6:2-4, Colossians 1:13 "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves,". Also the saints since the beginning of the world will be taking part in the earthly Kingdom as God promised them they will be in their spiritual glorified bodies just like the Body of Christ saints. 'giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light.' - This sharing will be in the earthly Kingdom in our Glorified bodies. Colossians 1:12. 1 Corinthians 15:50  "I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable."

'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land. I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms. They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.' Ezekiel 37:21-23,

5. The Sin of the dispensation which brings the final judgment of God on the dispensation

6. The Judgment and consequence on the world

7. The Transition from one dispensation to the next dispensation

God Was Father to the Nation of Israel

  1. Isaiah 63:16 - But you are our Father, though Abraham does not know us or Israel acknowledge us; you, O LORD, are our Father, our Redeemer from of old is your name (They beseech him to look down on the abject condition of their once-favored nation. Would it not be glorious to his name to remove the veil from their hearts, to return to the tribes of his inheritance? The Babylonish captivity, and the after-deliverance of the Jews, were shadows of the events here foretold. The Lord looks down upon us in tenderness and mercy. Spiritual judgments are more to be dreaded than any other calamities; and we should most carefully avoid those sins which justly provoke the Lord to leave men to themselves and to their deceiver. “Our Redeemer from everlasting” is thy name; thy people have always looked upon thee as the God to whom they might appeal. The Lord will hear the prayers of those who belong to him, and deliver them from those not called by his name.) Matthew and Henry Concise Commentary on the Whole Bible, Isaiah 63.
(Deut 32:6)  Is this the way you repay the LORD,  O foolish and unwise people?  Is he not your Father, your Creator, who made you and formed you?
Isaiah 64:8 - Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Israel is identified as God's wife, from birth He espoused her to Himself. She rebelled but in the end restored to His wife and possession in a special relationship, Ezekiel 16. The Bride of Christ does not seem to be the Church called His Body unless one say God has two wives. If one says God has two wives it would violate the universal principle of one man and one wife from the beginning of creation and confirmed to the Pharisees by Jesus Christ in the gospels.

Revelation 21 tells us about the New Jerusalem  after the millennium, after the new heaven and the new earth, when all who have overcome sin will be of Christ.  This must include redeemed Jews and Gentiles from every age or dispensation, and from every nation, tribe, people, and language.  The true Bride of Christ is Israel and the Body of Christ is the Church united together for all eternity.  Christ gives His Name to his Bride Israel and calls us today His Body. The Ephesians 5:22-33 passage used to try and make us the bride need to be read again and it would be plan that purity of the relationship, obedience, oneness and order is the subject under discussion and both parties in marriage are to have this purity. This passage also could be applied to the Gentiles to accept the Israelite people as one with them. This is what the marriage fest of Revelation is all about where all mankind become unified with each other as the marriage of two individual.

    Holman Bible Handbook

(Is. 63:7-64:12) A Prayer for Deliverance. In combination with the confession of 59:9-15a, this prayer forms a frame around the message of salvation in 59:15b-63:6. Once again the prophet represented the nation and provided a model response for God’s disobedient, exiled people.

The prophet recalled the Lord’s faithful deeds for His people throughout their history. He redeemed them from Egypt and protected them. When they sinned, He was forced to treat them as an enemy, prompting them to recall the days of Moses. The prophet was now doing the same. He longed for a new display of the divine power revealed at the Red Sea.

The remainder of the prayer combines lamentation over the people’s current situation, confession of sin, statements of confidence, and petitions for God’s deliverance. Confident that God remained their Father and Redeemer, the prophet asked that He might respond compassionately to their plight. He lamented that the Lord had given them over to the hardness of their hearts and that the enemies of God had destroyed His temple. He asked that the Lord might break through the heavens and judge the nations, demonstrating once more His ability to deliver those who trusted Him. He acknowledged their punishment was well-deserved, for they had been totally contaminated by sin. Yet the prophet, confident that their relationship with God was not completely severed, begged Him to relent from His anger. Surely the ruined land and temple were proof that their punishment was sufficient.

  2. Salvation to others besides Israelites -  Isaiah 56

A. The King's coming to earth the first time to establish the spiritual need that fallen mankind needed to be able to participate in the Kingdom going into the earthly and the Eternal Kingdom (Redemption completion). The expectation was the Kingdom on earth for Israel.

B. The Messiah preaching and teaching the truths of the Kingdom which includes His presents, future hope to Israel and the world, where He provided needed means for all to take part and entry the kingdom.

C. The life expectation and experiences in the Kingdom both earthly and eternally.

D. The Responsibility of the messengers (stewards) of the Kingdom.

E. The need for salvation of those who will enter the Kingdom and during the earthly manifestation of the Kingdom.

F. The need for those who will enter the Kingdom to take responsibility during and proceeding entry.

G. Those who try to be part of the Kingdom the wrong way having a religion or way contrary to God.

The Book of Isaiah and the Millennial Kingdom or the Dispensation of the Kingdom.

"The constant tension between God's - promises and their incomplete - fulfillment was bearable for Israel, because they recognized that God's promises in all their temporal fulfillment. The good which God has promised to his people will come to its real fulfillment in messianic, eschatological salvation. It is in this sense that texts like Isa. 52:7 and Jer. 32:41 have been interpreted Messiah by Israel." ( Page 100, Dictionary of New Testament Theology Vol. 2 by Colin Brown, Regency Reference Library, Zondervan Publishing House, 1971)

I. The Promise King a Descendent of David

Isaiah 11:1 "The millennial reign of Christ is described in 11: 1, - 12:6. The time of the Messiah's coming was undoubtedly a puzzle in the Old Testament times. In this section the prophet indicates that His coming is yet in the distant future. Isaiah predicts that the "tree" of the line of David will be cut down and that a shoot must grow out of the stock of Jesse before it will Flourish again. He predicts that rod (choter, "shoot" or "sprout") will come forth from the stem (geza', "root" or "stump") of Jesse (David's father and the forefather of the Davidic line), Branch (nesser) is used in parallel with rod. "(Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page1034)

Isaiah 9:6,7 "The Gift-Child in this passage is the same divine child as Immanuel. And, using the prophetic perfect, the prophet sees Him as though He were already born. Wonderful, Counselor (pele  yo 'ets) is actually one term in Hebrew. A wonder is indicative of the miracle. Counselor is often used in parallel with king (cf. Mic. 4:9). Thus miraculous counsel is given by this God-like king. The mighty God (El Gibor) is the strongest of these titles. In Isaiah, El is always used of God and never refers to Man. Gibor means "Hero." Together they describe One who is indeed God Himself. Everlasting Father (abi'ad) literally means Father of Eternity. He alone is the source of eternal life. Prince of Peace (Sar Shalom) indicates that the mighty God will be a benevolent ruler bringing eternal peace on earth through the establishment of His kingdom. Thus the obscure figure of Immanuel is now brought to clear light: He is Himself God incarnate!" Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page1031)

Isaiah 4:2-6 "The Branch of the Lord is the Messiah Himself. The same title is used in Jeremiah 23:5, 33:15 and Zechariah 3:8, and 6:12. Thus, in the mist of his warning of judgment, Isaiah reveals a glorious promise of the future hope of the coming Messiah. He sees ahead to the Millennial Kingdom when once again the cloud of glory shall rule them by day and the pillar of fire shall lead them by night. The Phrase for upon all glory shall be a defense should read: " the glory shall be spread over them as a canopy of protection."" (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1024)

Isaiah 11:2-5 "The Branch is personalized in verse 2 as the Messiah Himself. The spirit of the Lord refers to the sevenfold Spirit of God (cf. Rev. 4:5) described here in relation to His seven attributes. The words for counsel and might are the same as used in 9:6 to describe the divine Child. Because the Spirit  of God is upon Him, the Messiah will not judge after the sight of his eyes, for He will have true spiritual vision and judge the poor with righteousness. He will rule the earth with the rod [shebet, septer] of his mouth, the power of His spoken word, by which He will slay the wicked with His breath (cf. Rev. 19:15)"(Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page1034)

Isaiah 11:10 "The Messiah is again referred to as root [shoresh] of Jesse as in verse 1. He is clearly Jewish, for He will stand for an ensign of the people ('amin, a term applied to the Jewish people). Yet Isaiah goes on to say that this is the banner the Gentiles seek. Thus Isaiah is predicting a time when salvation will come to the Gentiles as well as the Jews." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1035)

Isaiah 28:16-17, "---. God promises to lay in Zion . . . a precious corner stone. New Testament writers clearly identify that cornerstone as Jesus Christ (cf. Rom. 9:33, 1 Pet. 2:6). Those who believe in Him find Him a sure foundation. To those who reject Him, He becomes a stumbling stone." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1052)

II. The Kingdom

Isaiah 1:21-31, "This passage is supplementary to the rest of the chapter.  It looks forward to the millennial Kingdom when Jerusalem will again be restored as God's faithful city. Verse 24 uses three different divine names: Lord (Adon); Lord (Yahweh), and mighty One of Israel (Abir Yisrael). All refer to the same person of the Godhead. Converts are literally "turned ones" or "repentant ones." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page1021)

Isaiah 27:1-13, "Leviathan is a symbolic monster also referred to here as that crooked serpent . . . the dragon, or Satan. The context indicates that Isaiah has in view the final victory of God over Satan (cf. Rev. 20:2). The prophet then bursts into a joyful song of the vineyard (Israel) of the Lord (cf. Is. 5:1-7). Now the vineyard will succeed because I the Lord do keep it. The wandering Israelites will now take root and will blossom and bud during the kingdom age when all the nations will come up to Jerusalem to worship the Lord." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1050)

Isaiah 26:12-21, "Isaiah predicts that God will ordain peace for those who trust in Him. Other lords are gods they may have previous worshiped. Now they must recognize that they are dead. Though the people of Israel have been removed . . . unto all the ends of the earth, their dispersion will be reversed and they will be re-gathered in their land. This section also contains one of the strongest promises of physical resurrection in the Old Testament. Thy dead men shall live . . . my dead body shall . . .a rise. Those who have previously died are called upon to awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust. The prophet further predicts that the earth shall cast out the dead, See Daniel 12:2." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1049)

Isaiah 26:1-11, "opens with a great song of praise that will be sung in Judah (lit., Praise). The picture is that of the redeemed who enter the millennial Kingdom. Notice that the Walls and bulwarks are not physical but spiritual. The command Open ye the gates may indicate that the city (New Jerusalem) has never before been occupied. In this fixed moral and spiritual state Israel is promised perfect peace (shalom, shalom, lit., "peace, peace"). This emphatic expression indicates a peace that goes beyond human comprehension, (cf. Phil. 4:7). To have one's Mind . . . stayed means to lean on God in total confidence and security. Trust is the ultimate expression of that confidence. Notice that the object of one's faith is as important as the act of trust. Here the object of faith is the Lord Jehovah." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1049)

III. The Characteristics of the Kingdom

Isaiah 2:1-5, "the word that Isaiah...saw indicates that this is a prophecy from that of chapter 1. The prophetic tense implies that the prophet sees the future as though it had already happened. The passage is repeated in Micah 4:1-4 in similar form. The setting is the millennial age, when the nations of the world will come to the Holy City (Jerusalem) to learn the ways of God. Christ Himself is pictured as the Judge who will direct the affairs of the nations during His Millennial Kingdom. Thus the weapons of war will be turned into tools of peace and economic productivity." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1022)

Isaiah 11:6-9, " Peace and harmony will characterize the Messiah's kingdom. Ravenous predatory animals - wolf, leopard, lion and bear - are set in deliberate contrast to the more defenseless lamb, kid, calf, cow, and ox. Threat the lion shall eat straw implies a change of diet. Even the asp and the cockatrice (snakes) will be harmless to a small child. Isaiah sees the Messiah ruling the world in righteousness and peace that extends even to the animal kingdom. During this time the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord. Thus the prophet sees beyond the restoration of Judah to a time when Messiah will rule the entire world." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1035)

Isaiah 11:11-16 , "The prophet foresees a time when the hostile enemies of Israel will be at peace with her during the millennial kingdom."  (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1035)

Isaiah 19:18-25, "The city of destruction comes from a deliberation alteration of the name Heliopolis "City of the Sun." The prophet Isaiah sees a day when Egypt will be converted to the knowledge of the Lord. The prediction of an alter to the Lord in Egypt was technically fulfilled during the reign of Ptolemy VI by a priest named Onias. However, the savior, and a great one who brings universal blessing, must refer to Christ Himself ruling over Egypt during the millennial kingdom. The highway running from Egypt to Assyria through Israel pictures a time of international peace when Egypt and Assyria will become my people." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1043)

Tribulation Judgment - Isaiah 24:-27:13, Isaiah 24:13-23, Bringing in the millennial reign after judgment, Isaiah 25:1-12

Isaiah 32:1-20, "The king who shall reign in righteousness is Christ Himself. The prophet foresees a time when government will exist that is totally characterized by righteousness and judgment. Such a description does not fit even Hezekiah, the best of Judah's kings. Rather, Isaiah sees a much greater day coming when the godly character of Judah will be as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. This will be a time when the ignorant will understand knowledge (da 'at, moral discernment). He also sees a time of complete national conversion when the spirit will be poured upon us (cf. Joel 2:28)." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1057)

Isaiah 33:13-24, "God's judgment is pictured as a devouring fire, which is so awesome that only the righteous will be spared (cf. Matt. 24:22). The king in his beauty is Christ (Jesus) Himself, and the description of the magnitude of His kingdom when Christ (Jesus) will rule the world in peace. All that Israel needs will be fulfilled in ths Lord (Jesus) her God, who will be the judge, lawgiver, and king. Thus, in this threefold capacity, he will save us." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1058)

Isaiah 35:1-10, "---a message of hope for the future. After the great destruction of the Tribulation period will come the blessings of the millennial age when the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. In the Messiah's Kingdom all spiritual evil and physical catastrophe will be reversed and the land and people will be blessed. Carmel and Sharon, the normally fertile regions of Israel, through devastated by the Battle of Armageddon, will once again be fertile and productive. One day they will blossom more beautiful than the cedar forests of  Lebanon. The highway is contrasted to the desolate desert and its endless maze of shifting sands. It will be the way of holiness and will be reserved for the ransomed and redeemed of the Tribulation period who will enter the millennial Kingdom." (Notes from the King James Study Bible by Thomas nelson Publishers, Nashville 1988, page 1060)

Condition of Blessing the Nation of Israel Again

Deuteronomy 30

1And it shall come to pass, when all these things are come upon thee, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before thee, and thou shalt call them to mind among all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath driven thee,  2And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;  3That then the LORD thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the nations, whither the LORD thy God hath scattered thee.  4If any of thine be driven out unto the outmost parts of heaven, from thence will the LORD thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee:  5And the LORD thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers.  6And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.  7And the LORD thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, which persecuted thee.  8And thou shalt return and obey the voice of the LORD, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day.  9And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:  10If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

Ezekiel 38:1-39:29, Gog and Magog , Revelation 20:1-8
A very important difference of the end of the dispensation of Grace is there will be no believers left behind, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 however, at the end of the tribulation there will be no unbelievers left here on earth, 2 Thessalonians 2:2,8-12, cf. note: v 21 of Revelation 19:1-21, 14:14-20, 16:13-16, Matthew 24,25 (battle of Armageddon also the Day of the Lord), Revelation 20:1-8  . The believers raised at the end of the Dispensation of Grace will not have bodies of flesh and blood to reproduce where at the end of the tribulation the believers who are alive at its end have bodies of flesh and will reproduce offspring during the 1000 year reign of Christ.
